Sunday Night Stories: the Disney Princess Edition
For the record, what follows is what happens when you read Inception fic and the Yuletide Disney Princesses fics on the night before a three-hour car ride.
(Um, gen-ish, Disney Princess crossover modern AU, for those of you looking for a genre. If I had any talent for graphics at all, I would be inflicted them on you, because can you imagine?)
So I’ve decided what would be amazing is a Disney Princesses Inception AU. Not an exact Inception fusion, they don’t even need to incept anybody, but with the team and the dream heists and all that, and then I realized—we have canon sleep disorders! And then the following happened:
Something I did not know I wanted.
This would be the most awesome AU ever and now I’ve started thinking about what their totem’s would be…
Mulan: I figure something dragon related(no, really?). Perhaps a small wood or jade figurine? Probably her father’s, maybe a message carved into the base? Saito’s “totem” wasn’t so much a physical item as it was a phrase “Do you want to be/I am an old man filled with regret, waiting to die alone.” Perhaps her father died early and whatever’s carved on at the bottom of the figurine is something he told her before he died.
- I was also thinking maybe a tattoo, same idea, dragon with a message. Around her shoulders or upper arms. Maybe her front torso. Just somewhere where she can see it and doesn’t need a mirror to(re: her back).
Tiana: Definitely something related to her family. I remember reading this one theory(when people were still arguing whether the movie ended in or out of dream state) that Dom’s totem was actually his ring, he’s always wearing it in-dream, but never out (this is contradicted though in the comic prequel). I’ve always liked this idea and perhaps Tiana’s would be something similar? Her mother’s/father’s ring?
Rapunzel: A frying pan I was playing with the idea of a (broken)mood ring (chameleon->changing colours->mood ring) that would work in-dream, but I’d rather not repeat the ring motif. Then I kinda thought lanterns->fire->lighter, and maybe she has a lighter that either only works in-dream or burns a different colour in-dream.
Ariel: Have you ever seen those miniature conch shells on key chains that they sell in souvenir shops? That don’t resonate sound that well? That’s what I’m thinking, that in reality, Ariel can’t hear the “waves” from the shell, but once in a dream-state, she can hear them loud and clear. Perhaps she grew up next to the sea or just has always wanted to go?
Belle: Like Yusuf and a chemist, Belle probably doesn’t go into the field very much, and is/when she does, she keeps to one/the first level, so perhaps she doesn’t need one? I don’t think Yusuf had one, but if her tutored her, maybe he would’ve wanted her to have one, just in case. Perhaps a mirror? She has one of those lockets with a small mirror inside, except, in-dream, it only reflects the actual people, not the surroundings and not the projections.
Cinderella: Cinderella’s fairy tale is all about keeping and being on time, so a watch, she’s always wearing a watch. It’s digital in reality, but becomes analogue in-dream. Maybe somehow, don’t ask me how, instead of keeping dream-relative time, the watch continues to keep real-time.
And plus, how awesome would it be to just see all these ladies dressed up in suits?
This video is why I will forever hate that Venn diagram graphic of “What the author meant and what your English teacher thinks they meant”. A combination of it doesn’t matter and who cares. English is meant to be dissected and it is imperative that you look further than the shallow meaning of each word

Let’s talk about something actually relevant to the above, shall we?
Beyond the colours, one thing I love about alicexz’s art is the dynamic colours. There is a sharp contrast between the shadows and the lights. And contrast is what makes so things interesting, in art or in people. We(or perhaps just I) want to look for those contrasting, or even conflicting ideas in your head because you have a story behind each one. I want to see that, just a splash of your mind on paper.

As much as I love BBC’s Sherlock, I’ve only read two pieces of fanfiction from the fandom. A City on the Head of a Pin and Alone on the Water. I believe both have already made their way among the fandom, but I advise anyone who hasn’t to give them a read.

I am blown away. This is amazing! This is so cool.
Half of me is still just staring at this, mouth agape. The other is going “I want to learn. Teach me.” I know, I know, you’ve got to dedicate yourself if you really want to learn how to hack, but still, stuff like this definitely peaks my interest. This is so stunning and absolutely frightening at the same time. It’s a whole new type of warfare. I mean, who’s to say it’s under any one government at all?
This video is also just beautifully made. Gah, just look at it. I could spend hours putting it on repeat.

Do you hear that? That is the collective sound of 1) my heart BREAKING and 2) my brain shoving this fic into my drawers of headcanons because I NEED DONNA TO REMEMBER AND I NEED HER TO BE OKAY AND I NEED HER TO BECOME THE DOCTOR-DONNA AGAIN.
I love Donna so much, I cannot express how much I love her. I was almost bawling when the Doctor wiped her memories; she was the exact person the Doctor needed to travel with. She is the exact person the Doctor will need to travel with. She is the most important person in the universe, I can’t believe the universe will let her go so easily.

She has so much more to do, so many more people to see. She needs to find Jenny again and then the three of them(read the fic) will travel through time and space. The Doctor will continue to be elusive and they won’t find him until his 13th incarnation. They were able to meet his other companions though. They met Amy Pond when she was 15 years old and told her not to give up on the “raggedy doctor”, Jack DID NOT DIE and had been picked up by the Trio before letting him off somewhere at sometime, when the Doctor does die, either Donna or Jenny will pick up the Doctor name, maybe both *continues making up headcanons*

I can’t answer that question unless I answer the question of what constitutes marriage. And none of the definitions I have for marriage really hold up to scrutiny:
1. A marriage is a legal contract. But for the vast majority of human history, marriages were not legal contracts, so are we to say that all those people—from the Prophet Muhammad to Mary and Joseph—weren’t really married?
2. A marriage is a life-long monogamous romantic relationship. Well, this is patently untrue. 40% of marriages end in divorce; is it immoral for those people to have had sex during their marriages simply because their marriages later ended? If I’m single, meet a girl in Las Vegas, marry her, have sex with her, and divorce her the next day—is that somehow less ethically problematic than two unmarried people in a committed relationship having sex?
The question is further complicated by the fact that many people in the United States are legally prohibited from ever marrying. So if you argue that one must always wait for marriage, you end up arguing that gay people in New York can have sex after they get married, but that gay people in Alabama will never be able to have sex, at least until and unless gay marriage becomes legal in Alabama.
Which brings me to the biggest issue of all: To answer your question, I must not only define marriage (which turns out to be really hard to define); I must also define sex. What is sex? Is it actions that can result in procreation? Is it any kind of sexual intimacy? If so, is kissing sex? Is hugging sex if it happens to result in arousal?
We’ve created this aura around virginity as if one’s virginity is a real and tangible thing—but of course it isn’t. Sex and virginity are socially constructed concepts. Are you a virgin if you engage in oral sex? Are you a virgin if you’ve kissed a girl? Are you a virgin if it was just the tip? Are you a virgin if your hymen breaks from tampon-insertion?
In my opinion, our obsessive focus on virginity and sexual purity doesn’t serve anyone. Losing one’s virginity is not an event; it’s a process. Similarly, weddings are events, and signing your marriage license is an event, but marriages are not events. They are processes.
So no, I don’t think it’s inherently wrong to have sex before marriage, because I don’t know what sex means, and I don’t know what marriage means. I think people should feel empowered to make their own decisions about their own bodies in thoughtful and open conversations with their romantic partners.
And use condoms. The End.

I really like SB-Prime’s voice, but I think Conner’s should be a bit lower. I mean, it’s a lot better than the last one *snicker*, but yeah, this is very exciting! Oh god, can you imagine the narration for the Dick-Kon interaction? In that voice? “Conner started to rip Dick’s uniform off of him.” *dies laughing*
Oh, and when you mentioned that the last audio was from the BBC? Totally started thinking about them talking in British accents XD
